Job description

The ASCE/EWRI Management Practice for Control of Erosion & Sediment Standards (MPCES) Committee is seeking new members to oversee the revision of the following standard:

The chair of this committee is Dennis Richards, P.E., BC.WRE, F.EWRI, F.ASCE, Senior Engineer/Water, Olsson, Chandler, AZ.

Those interested in joining the committee should apply online here: Committee Application Form | ASCE. Select “EWRI” from the “Institute or Committee” dropdown menu, then choose “Management Practice for Control of Erosion and Sediment (MPCES) (ASCE/EWRI 66)”.

Practicing engineers, scientists and managers with expertise or education in the design, construction, rehabilitation, installation, and/or operation & maintenance of erosion control systems and/or best management practices of sediment control are all needed and welcome.

Membership on EWRI/ASCE standard committees are open to all those who are directly contributing to, and/or affected by environmental and/or water engineering. Committees are created with membership balance that facilitates consensus building among all categories: Producer, Consumer, and General Interest, including Regulatory bodies. More information can be found in ASCE’s Rules for Standards Development.

We encourage all eligible candidates, including those who have been historically marginalized, protected veterans, women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with disabilities, to apply.

The deadline to apply for this committee is Thursday, July 10, 2025. Selected committee members will be notified shortly after that date.
