A position in the Division of Cemeteries requires a Bachelor's Degree and involves administrative coordination and planning of public tour programs. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and pass a written examination. A one-year probationary period is required.
Responsible professional, administrative, and program coordination work in support of the Division of Cemeteries, including the planning and organization of public tour programs, and related duties as required.
Minimum Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.*

For employment in Orleans Parish: Domicile requirements are currently waived for applications. However, all new full-time employees hired on or after January 1, 2013, must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. Airport and public safety employees are excluded.
Additional exceptions may be made case-by-case. Applicants are encouraged to discuss domicile exceptions during the interview.
For Sewerage and Water Board positions: Domicile requirements are waived for positions vacant and advertised for at least 90 days. Employees hired under this waiver remain exempt from the residency requirement for the duration of employment at the Sewerage and Water Board. Additional exceptions may be discussed during the interview.
The hiring department will conduct interviews before requesting a criminal background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, including criminal history. Criminal history does not automatically disqualify a candidate.

The minimum age for certain positions is 18 years.
Effective August 1, 2023, the probationary period for all classified positions is one year.
Candidates for certain positions may undergo pre-employment or unannounced substance abuse screening during the working test period.
A medical examination is required for all original entrance probationary appointments to active classifications. A medical screening may be required for non-active classifications.
Good moral character is required. Disqualification may occur due to unsatisfactory character or employment record, forgery, misrepresentation, or cheating.
Applicants licensed to drive should carry a valid driver's license or a valid form of picture ID during examinations.
Veterans, disabled veterans, and certain spouses and parents of veterans may receive additional credit if claimed and supported by required documentation, such as DD214.
High school diplomas or GED must be issued by a recognized state agency. Foreign diplomas require an equivalency statement from an accepted evaluation service listed on the NACES website.
Experience credit is granted for related work, including provisional appointments. Unpaid work is not credited unless specified. Degrees, education, and credentials are subject to verification and relevance as determined by Civil Service.
Offers of employment or promotion require verification of education, licenses, and credentials. Misrepresentation may lead to withdrawal of offers.
