Senior Managing Consultant – Finance

Location: Hybrid, NYC
Salary: $210,000-$350,000

About the Opportunity

A leading corporate finance and consulting practice is seeking an experienced Senior Managing Consultant to join its growing Finance Transformation team. This role partners with private equity firms, portfolio companies, lenders, and executive leadership teams to drive operational and financial performance improvements.

The team specializes in transforming the Office of the CFO by improving financial processes, reporting infrastructure, operating models, and organizational capabilities. Consultants work directly alongside client leadership to deliver measurable improvements in financial performance, decision‑making, and long‑term value creation.

This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact engagements spanning finance transformation, operational improvement, transaction readiness, and strategic value creation across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day execution of client engagements focused on finance transformation, operational improvement, transaction readiness, and enterprise value creation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CFOs, executive leadership teams, private equity sponsors, and lender stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex business challenges and develop structured workplans, financial analyses, and executive‑level recommendations.
  • Prepare board‑ready presentations, financial models, transformation roadmaps, and performance reporting dashboards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness through data‑driven analysis.
  • Implement process improvements across finance, accounting, and operations.
  • Lead multiple workstreams simultaneously while mentoring junior consultants and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Utilize AI‑enabled technologies and advanced analytics to improve workflows, enhance reporting, and deliver innovative client solutions.
  • Support practice growth through recruiting, mentoring, business development, and thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 6–12 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, finance transformation, financial or operational due diligence, operational improvement, or related advisory roles within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience leading complex client engagements and delivering measurable operational and financial improvements.
  • Experience working with private equity‑backed companies, private credit lenders, or sponsor‑backed businesses is highly preferred.
  • Experience in restructuring, turnaround consulting, or distressed environments is a plus.
  • A combination of consulting and industry experience is desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced financial modeling expertise, including three‑statement models, cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, and business performance modeling.

Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes, including:

  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
  • Financial close and controllership
  • Treasury management

  • Experience working with ERP, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with executive‑level stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to thrive in fast‑paced, client‑focused environments.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
