Referment is expanding its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. You will own the monthly and quarterly close, supporting schedules, and the generation of accurate financial reporting for the firm’s US and international entities.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, process improvement, and adopting generative AI to modernize close, reporting, and workflows while partnering with Legal and Compliance to address complex questions.

Referment is working with a global investment firm adding an associate to its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. The team owns the books, financial reporting, and control environment for the firm's US and international management companies. You'll take real ownership of the recurring close, reporting, and regulatory processes while helping to modernize the function through generative AI and automation.

The Role

• Manage recurring monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reporting for the team and firm leadership, with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements and related filings.
• Help design and adopt generative AI and automation tools that make close, reporting, and regulatory workflows more efficient and reliable.
• Partner with colleagues across Financial Operations and Legal and Compliance to research questions, address reporting needs, and improve processes.

What We're Looking For

• At least two years of accounting experience, ideally within alternative asset management, financial services, or public accounting.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a CPA — the CPA is required.
• A solid understanding of core accounting concepts and the recurring close and reporting cycle.
• A forward-looking mindset on generative AI and automation, with genuine interest in applying new tools to everyday work.
• Keen attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and collaborative communication, with discretion around sensitive information.
