Job summary

City of New York's NYC Aging is seeking a dynamic Management Auditor to oversee audits by independent CPA firms and ensure accuracy and compliance with City and agency guidelines. The role centers on audit quality control, close-out activities, and corrective action follow-ups for funded nonprofits.

The position supports the Audit: Close Out unit, handling complex financial reviews and enhancing internal controls while maintaining timely, compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with auditing/financial background or related field.
• Experience with GAO/GAGAS or equivalent auditing standards a plus.
• Strong writing and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of independent CPA audits and review financial/compliance data.
• Verify funds are used in accordance with City and agency guidelines.
• Ensure final audit reports meet Audit Guide requirements and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist nonprofits and CPA firms with deadlines, deficiencies, and action plans.
