Job summary

Job description

The Nevada Office of Emergency Management (NV OEM) is recruiting for a Management Analyst 1 that will be located in Elko, Nevada. This position reports to the Chief Resilience Officer of the Office of Emergency Management (NV OEM). The Coordinator will: Serve as the primary liaison to rural and tribal emergency managers, building relationships and providing technical support. Support all NV OEM sections by ensuring rural and frontier perspectives are integrated into planning, preparedness, and resilience initiatives. Represent NV OEM in coordination with Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs). Contribute to community resilience and preparedness portfolio projects, including developing and supporting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs in rural and frontier areas. Provide administrative support to the Resilience Portfolio and Preparedness Portfolio as needed. Participate as a Duty Officer and perform associated responsibilities. The position requires programmatic experience and the ability to strengthen capabilities in underserved communities. Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Activation: During major emergencies, the Coordinator may be activated to support the NV EOC. Assigned duties and work schedules may shift significantly and remain in effect until demobilization.

Management Analysts conduct studies, research, and examination of management and administrative areas such as agency operations, forms, policies and procedures, workflow, legislative analysis, management research, and statistical and informational analysis.

One or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.

Additional Position Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in Elko, Nevada
  • Experience in public outreach is required.
  • Public service experience in emergency management or emergency response is required.
