TheyDo is seeking a Management Accountant to cover maternity leave from January 2027 to August 2027. You will oversee month-end close, invoicing, Dutch tax compliance, and ensure accurate financial reporting while the current role is away.
The role is fully remote, with ownership of finance operations across regions and a chance to improve processes as part of a fast‑growing, customer‑led company.
Every company wants to become more customer-centric. At TheyDo, we make that ambition real. Our AI-powered journey management platform helps the world’s largest enterprises align around what matters most: their customers. By bringing scattered data and teams together, we empower smarter decisions and better experiences. Since 2019, global leaders across industries — including Ford, Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Home Depot, and Lufthansa — have trusted us to scale journey management and deliver measurable impact.
Backed by $50M from top-tier investors, including Blossom and 20VC, we are building a category-defining company. Our fully remote team of 100+ TheyDoers represents 30+ nationalities across 27 countries, united by a customer-led, people-first culture.
Our mission is clear: Make journey management the most powerful business tool in the world.
If you’re looking for a place where your work shapes the future of how companies operate, join us. Let’s build it together.
At TheyDo, we’re on a mission to make the customer journey the most powerful business tool there is. We help global enterprises like Pfizer, Ford, and Johnson & Johnson turn journey chaos into clarity with our leading journey management platform.
As we scale, our finance operations need the same level of clarity. We’re looking for a Management Accountant to cover maternity leave from January 2027 to August 2027. You’ll keep our finance operations running and the numbers right while our Management Accountant is away.
You’ll own TheyDo’s day-to-day finance operations for the length of the cover. That means running month-end, invoicing customers, handling Dutch tax and compliance, and making sure the business keeps operating with confidence.
This is a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves role. You’ll step into processes that are already in place, so you’ll need to get up to speed quickly and take ownership from early on. You’ll keep things running smoothly and improve them where you see gaps.
Running month-end reporting and bookkeeping.
Producing accurate profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Managing employee expenses across multiple regions.
Owning invoicing and collections from our customers.
Supporting Dutch tax filings and compliance.
Keeping our financial models accurate and useful (with leadership support).
This role suits someone who can land quickly, own the finance function without hand‑hanging, and leave it in better shape than they found it.
Recent experience using NetSuite (within the last 4 years)
A recognised accounting qualification.
2 - 4 years of post‑qualification experience.
Startup/scale‑up experience (essential for understanding how we operate).
You get up to speed fast and can take ownership of an existing set of processes without a long handover.
You like improving how things work, tightening up anything messy or undefined as you go.
You’re happy in the grey areas. When things aren’t clear, you figure it out.
You’re organised, pragmatic, and know how to prioritise.
