Job Scope

The MPD Supervisors are required to supervise field installation and operation of Managed Pressure Drilling jobs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to operate Opla Energy's proprietary Software.
  • Fill out and submit all required documentation including safety meetings, daily tickets, JHAs, and permits.
  • Identify and handle kicks and various other drilling scenarios.
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and functional, inspect for wear, and perform maintenance as required.
  • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
  • Utilize and abide by safety procedures.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of direct MPD experience. Knowledge in MPD processes, equipment capabilities, and downhole knowledge.
  • 5+ years of direct MPD experience (preferred). Knowledge in MPD processes, equipment capabilities, and downhole knowledge.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (not required).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Pre-employment Testing (Drug, alcohol, and fitness).
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.

Competencies

  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout a 12-hour day.
  • Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. from a floor or table to chest high using proper lifting techniques.
  • Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in manipulation of parts. Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity are required.
  • Ability to read, evaluate, and respond to well plans, drilling procedures, displacement schedules, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Familiarity with various types of machinery and strong mechanical skills.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work well within a collaborative team.
