Job summary

Paragon Management SNF is seeking a Managed Care/HMO/Insurance Biller and Collections specialist in the Baldwin, NY area. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.

Responsibilities include check eligibility, billing/collection, AR follow-up, and handling denials and appeals. Strong communication, writing, and GL knowledge are valued. Competitive benefits offered with full-time employment and a $60,000–$80,000 annual salary.

Qualifications

• Experience in Insurance & MLTC billing preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Confident talking on the phone to patients and insurance representatives.
• Good writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter but able to work on a team and take direction.
• Understanding of General Ledger.
• Posting of Payments.

Responsibilities

• Check Eligibility via Insurance Websites and/or Telephone.
• Billing/collection.
• A/R follow-up unpaid or denied claims.
• Phone calls to insurance, request for Reprocessing.
• Denials, Insurance Appeals.
• Claimsfollow-up.
• Working denials.
• Determining appropriate next steps based on AR & Aging Reports.
• Reading and interpreting EOBs.
• Sending Corrected Claims.
• Calling insurance companies at various stages of the claims process.
