Position: Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Tech performs mammography procedures according to scope and standards of practice.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders; educates patients about procedures to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice, when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition continuously, reports changes, and assists physicians with interventional procedures such as biopsies.
• Prepares equipment, selects appropriate imaging parameters, and performs safety and quality control procedures.
• Ensures compliance with MQSA regulations and accreditation standards.
• Positions patients, performs imaging, analyzes results, and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results accurately using the computer system.
• Maintains current knowledge of BiRad and follow-up procedures.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree required.

Required Skills:

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stressful situations effectively.

Certifications:

• BLS certification required.
• ARRT certification with additional Mammography certification required; if not certified, must obtain within one year of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
