Job summary

UI Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist in Chicago to perform routine imaging exams and ensure high-quality breast imaging. You will work under supervision within Radiology, adhering to MQSA and regulatory standards while utilizing EMR systems.

The role requires ARRT radiography registration, ARRT Mammography certification, Illinois licensure, and CPR certification. This on-site position offers a flexible day shift and is eligible for UI Health benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the ARRT.
• Illinois licensure in medical radiography.
• ARRT mammography modality certification.
• American Heart Association CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine Mammography Imaging exams and procedures.

• Obtain patient history and document in medical records.
• Educate patients on breast care and procedures.

Pay Range: The previously determined pay range for this position is $46.94 - 72.58 / Hourly Wage. Pay is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Employees at this level acquire Mammography images which are used for medical diagnoses and treatment. These Mammography images are interpreted by a Radiologist board-certified in Mammography to identify breast abnormalities. The Mammography Technologist works under direct supervision of higher-level personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs routine Mammography Imaging exams and procedures
• Utilizes department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
• Obtains detailed history from patient and medical record
• Educates patients on breast care
• Navigates electronic medical record and other information systems utilized to process imaging
• Schedules patients for exams and assists with some regulatory clerical functions
• Performs all quality control functions related to mammography equipment
• Assists in training and education of Mammography students
• Participates in the enforcement of Radiation safety practices
• Responds to patient and/or staff service and patient experience issues.
• Adheres to regulatory standards such as MQSA, The Joint Commission, ACR, IDPH and Infection Control policy
• Reports equipment failures and supply shortages as needed
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current/Valid licensure in medical radiography by the State of Illinois.
• Modality specific certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in Mammography.
• Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Able to work 1st shift and rotating weekends
• Excellent Attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history preferred
