Job summary

Regions Hospital's Breast Health Center in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a Mammography Technologist Specialist for a 0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) day shift. You will perform diagnostic mammography, including biopsies and seed placements, under Radiologists, with a focus on patient-centered care and safety.

The role requires ARRT Radiology registration, Mammography Training, and BLS. Benefits include education reimbursement and a collaborative team environment in a non-union setting.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an AMA accredited program of Radiology Technology or the Canadian equivalent.
  • Completion of a Mammography Training program.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology.
  • Must have Mammography Training Certificate.
  • Must obtain Mammography board within first year.
  • BLS certification from AHA sponsored program on or before first day of employment.

  • Work under the direction of Radiologists and communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards during imaging procedures and operate specialized imaging equipment.

Job description

The Breast Health Center at Regions Hospital has an opening for a Mammography Technologist Specialist. Our Breast Health Center performs diagnostic work, and procedures which include biopsies and seed placements to help in the diagnosis of breast cancer or other breast health problems. These exams require independent judgment and initiative, and you will work with patients of all cultures and physical conditions. Technologists get a variety of experiences and work closely under the direction of our Radiologists. We are a small dedicated team that enjoys working together, and also offer education reimbursement toward continuing education!

Schedule: 0.5 FTE / 20 hrs weekly: Hours of operation are Monday- Friday between the hours of 7-4:30pm.This is a part-time position with opportunities to pick up shifts if needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Completion of an AMA accredited program of Radiology Technology or the Canadian equivalent. Completion of a Mammography Training program.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology.
    • Must have Mammography Training Certificate (tracked by dept).
    • Must obtain Mammography board within first year.
    • BLS certification from AHA sponsored program on or before first day of employment.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of procedures used to produce specific medical images.
    • Knowledge of human anatomy, physics and chemistry
    • Knowledge of safety techniques, including radiation safety, required during radiologic/medical imaging procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients, age, cultures and physical conditions.
    • Ability to work in stressful situations.
    • Ability to operate regular and specialized medical imaging equipment, and medical imaging accessory devices and equipment.
    • Learning agility to gain knowledge of all routines and procedures in the area.
    • Ability to learn all specialized treatment and diagnostic procedures as required by individual patient need at a consistently high quality level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Additional Mammography experience beyond the Mammography training program
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Mammography Board Certified
Additional Information

This is a non-union 0.5 FTE (20 hours per pay period) day shift position, working in Saint Paul, MN.

The full salary range for this position is $41.51-$57.82 per hour, based on experience.

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
