The Mammography Technologist performs mammography screening, diagnostic evaluations and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. This position assists in the training of students and technologists in Mammography. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
  • Assume responsibility for self-development and keep current on the latest technology/techniques.
  • Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.
  • Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
  • Complete all mammography, bone density, breast ultrasound exams, and procedures; identify optimal images, evaluate and submit for physician review, according to policy and protocol.
  • Confirm patient identify and obtain and records patient identification; review and update patient documentation in EMR/PACS.
  • Practice established safety and quality guidelines (MASA/ARC), and utilize ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.


Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree Preferred in Radiology
  • Professional/Vocational/Trade Training Required in Radiology and
  • 2 years Radiology Required and
  • Mammography(new grad) Required or
  • 1 year Mammography Preferred
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Required and
  • X-Ray Operators (OPCERT) - . Required and
  • Mammography (ARRT-M) - . within 1 Year Required
