The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic breast and bone density exams on patients of all ages, supporting physicians with accurate imaging data.
Core responsibilities include demonstrating expertise in breast and bone density imaging, adhering to safety and ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure, evaluating image quality, and ensuring proper patient identification. They provide compassionate patient care, prioritize safety, assist radiologists with procedures, and follow all organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications required are a radiologic technology program accreditation, ARRT‑Mammography and Radiography certifications, and BLS certification.
Minimum experience includes two years in diagnostic radiography or one year in breast imaging, with preferred skills in mammography positioning and breast imaging equipment operation.
