Job summary

Envision Radiology, LLC in Rockwall, TX is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist. The role involves performing routine and diagnostic breast imaging with minimal supervision and submitting high-quality scans for radiologist interpretation.

You will maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the exam and educate patients on the procedure. This position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to imaging protocols, and teamwork in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provide procedure explanations.
• Reviews patient charts for missed information and consent; screens for implants and allergies.
• Obtains prior imaging as needed and submits high-quality scans for radiologist interpretation.
• Performs Mammography exams while attending to patient care and notifies if condition changes.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates procedure protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects equipment; reports quality concerns or deficiencies.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager on departmental concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Envision Imaging is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist
PRN (As-Needed) | Position pay range: $35.48 - $45.74

Summary/Objective:

Performs routine and diagnostic exams relating to breast anatomy to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image. Also provides patient education on breast self-examination as needed.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Obtains prior imaging as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.

4. Performs Mammography exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates procedure protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Physical Demands

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Mammography – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously "exceed" company and customer expectation

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Mammography (M)
• Complete 40 hours of mammography orientation
• Complete 8 hours of 3D tomosynthesis training (if applicable)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
