Job summary

Envision Imaging in South Arlington is seeking a Part-Time Mammography Technologist to join our team. The role focuses on performing routine and diagnostic breast exams and providing patient education and care throughout the process.

The position operates Saturdays 8 AM - 2 PM with pay in the range of $35.48–$45.74 per hour. Eligible benefits include a 401k plan, ESOP, PTO and EAP as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and diagnostic breast exams to obtain high-quality images.

• Transfer images to other locations as needed and coordinate with radiologist.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; report quality concerns or failures.
• Comply with all compliance policies and contribute to a safe work area.

Job description

Envision Imaging is looking for a Part-Time Mammography Technologist to join our South Arlington team!
Saturdays 8 AM - 2 PM| Position pay range $35.48 - $45.74

Summary/Objective

Performs routine and diagnostic exams relating to breast anatomy to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

1. 1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image. Also provides patient education on breast self-examination as needed.
2. 2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. 3. Obtains prior imaging as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. 4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. 5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. 6. Coordinates procedure protocols with Radiologist.
7. 7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. 8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
9. 9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Mammography – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Mammography (M)
• Complete 40 hours of mammography orientation
• Complete 8 hours of 3D tomosynthesis training (if applicable)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
