Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Senior Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic mammography imaging, operate imaging equipment, and ensure patient safety and image quality.

The role includes leadership responsibilities when needed, mentoring staff, and providing orientation and training. Strong communication with patients and clinicians is essential to deliver compassionate, high-quality care within Mercy's imaging services.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with clinical hours.
• 1 year of relevant mammography experience.
• State licensure may be required depending on the state.
• ARRT(R)(M) and 1 of ARRT(BS) or ARDMS (BR) with BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography imaging procedures with high quality and safety.

Certification/Registration: (ARRT(R)(M) AND 1 of the following advanced registries: ARRT(BS) OR ARDMS (BR); Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Knowledge in producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities
• Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures as applicable
• Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
• Knowledge of quality improvement programs.
• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
• Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
