Our population is mostly geriatric. We offer X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and echocardiology services. We have 2 x-ray rooms, 1 fluoroscopy room, 1 CT room, 1 MRI room, 1 Nuc Med camera, and 3 Ultrasound rooms. XR/CT perform 10-20 exams per day. US 10/day, NM 3/day, NM 3-4/day. It is a small hospital with extensive capabilities like pacemaker MRI. We emphasize team dynamics and professional development.
Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist 2, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs advanced Breast Imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Essential Functions
- Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures according to exam protocol, efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain production and quality standards by following established procedures.
- Use AIDET communication techniques to identify patient needs, ensure correct exam on the correct patient, and establish rapport.
- Instruct and communicate with patients and their families about the procedures and assess their ability to tolerate the exam.
- Prepare patients and the area for procedures, including positioning and equipment adjustments.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, drug, and radiation policies to protect patients and staff.
- Use sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintain hygiene standards.
- Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; collaborate with engineers and physicists for optimal equipment operation.
- Report equipment issues to management or relevant departments.
- Assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
- Screen individuals entering the department according to policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all procedures, including patient history, consent forms, and policies.
- Maintain medical imaging records in accordance with department standards for prompt interpretation.

- Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures, including stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, ultrasound-guided biopsies.
- Explain procedures clearly and put patients at ease.
- Provide timely, accurate, and cost-efficient services in compliance with standards and regulations.
- Work independently with minimal oversight.
- Maintain professionalism and composure under stress.
- Administer first aid and operate emergency equipment as needed.
- Ensure patient satisfaction by minimizing wait times and providing courteous service.
- Stay current with knowledge and skills relevant to pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric care.
- Serve as a preceptor, training new team members on procedures and initiatives.

Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: BLS, Texas MRT license, ARRT-M Mammography, ARRT-R Radiography.
