Job summary

Atlanta Women’s Healthcare Specialists in Atlanta, GA seeks an experienced Mammography Technologist to join its Imaging Department. You will perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging, explain procedures, and maintain patient safety and comfort.

The role requires ARRT Mammography, BLS, and at least two years of experience, with responsibilities including equipment maintenance, documentation, and collaboration with physicians to support diagnosis and patient care.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Mammography (M).
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of two years of mammography experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Review patient charts and previous imaging studies to prepare for examinations.
• Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Identify the need for additional imaging or follow-up and promptly communicate abnormal findings to the ordering physician.
• Provide physicians with appropriate technical information and documentation to support diagnosis.
• Ensure accurate charge entry, medical necessity documentation, and maintenance of patient records.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventative maintenance as needed.
• Maintain compliance with imaging protocols, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
• Support efficient scheduling, patient flow, and imaging resource utilization.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide exceptional patient care and service.
