Position Overview

Under general supervision, the Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammography independently and accurately, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned mammography exams according to protocols and standards.
• Produce and evaluate radiographs for technical quality; select appropriate technical factors.
• Assist radiologists by providing exam information and troubleshooting issues.
• Conduct quality assurance on equipment and processes.
• Report any equipment or process issues to supervisor.
• Assist in updating protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal radiologic technology training from an AMA-approved program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
• State of Washington Radiologic Technologist certification.
• ARRT Mammography Technologist certification before the end of probation period.
