UVM Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist for per diem coverage in the Burlington, VT area. The role requires flexible scheduling, weekend and on-call availability, and ability to perform exams across digital mammography equipment with proficiency in routine and diagnostic studies.

You must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT certified and licensed or eligible in Vermont, with at least 1 year of radiology experience and be prepared to participate in weekly

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly quality control on mammography equipment as required by FDA/ACR.
• Perform mammography exams on all equipment; be proficient in routine and diagnostic studies.
• Assist in training other personnel and students as needed.
• May perform other radiographic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, Supervisor and Chief Technologist.
• May require weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as assigned.

Job description

The status of this position is Per Diem, which means there are no "set" or committed hours. Coverage of a per diem employee ensures appropriate staffing levels during planned and unforeseen absences of staff and maintains patient access, keeping schedules and our services running smoothly.

The Mammography Technologist demonstrates progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the mammography area. They must have enough credits in digital mammography to perform exams on all equipment and be proficient in routine and diagnostic mammography exams. All technologists must perform weekly quality control on the mammography machines as required by the FDA and ACR. The Mammography Technologist may need to perform other radiographic procedures according to established practices and under the direction of a Radiologist, Supervisor and Chief Technologist. They need to pass a mammography competency before performing mammography exams and take the ARRT mammography boards within one year of starting in mammography. They need to assist in training other personnel and students as needed. The technologist may be required to work weekends, holidays, and on call duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JERCT. ARRT certified and Licensed or License eligible with the State of Vermont.

EXPERIENCE:

Has at least 1 year experience as a Radiology technologist and has successfully completed all Radiology competencies.
