Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada, seeks an experienced Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic mammography and X-ray procedures, ensuring patient safety and imaging quality. The role interfaces with patients and participates in CQI activities.

The ideal candidate holds Nevada radiology certification and BLS, with one year of mammography experience preferred. BS degree is optional, and the position is on-site at NNMC.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; BS degree preferred.
• AART radiography certification and mammography board eligibility.
• Certified in the State of Nevada to practice and administer radiation.
• One-year mammography experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards and extraneous radiation to patients
• Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure
• Thorough understanding of breast anatomy
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
