Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL seeks a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to join our breast imaging team. You will perform mammography exams, ensure image quality, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards in a patient-centered care environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of radiology experience, BLS certification, and ARRT credentials. This position is on-site with daytime hours and opportunities for career development within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of radiology tech experience required.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; RT(M)(ARRT), RT(R)(ARRT) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
  • Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the EMR and PACS systems.
  • Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
  • Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Follows MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Shift: Monday-Wednesday 9:30am-6pm
