Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist for the Mobile Mammography Unit in Dallas, TX. The role involves performing mammography exams, ensuring patient prep, and maintaining equipment and workflow in a mobile setting.

Required ARRT certification, Texas licensure, and BLS by first day. Two years of mammography experience preferred; ARRT‑M Mammography registry is a plus. On-site benefits include healthcare, PTO, and retirement programs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in radiologic technology or graduation from an AMA-approved school.
  • Licenses: ARRT, Texas state licensure, BLS certification by first day of employment.

  • Act as steward of hospital resources, ensuring equipment is operational and reporting repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate and schedule exams to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Perform quality control on assigned equipment and report issues immediately.
  • Assist new employees and students with learning opportunities.

Required
  • Associate’s Degree in radiologic technology or graduation from an AMA‑approved school
  • Clinical training at UTSW may be considered as experience
  • Licenses and certifications:
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technicians)
    • State licensure of Texas
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross by first day of employment
Preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience in mammography
  • ARRT‑M Mammography registry preferred
Shift

Part‑time, 3 days a week with variable times; Day job.

Job Duties
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and ensure supplies are adequate for procedures
  • Act as a steward of hospital resources, ensuring equipment is operational and reporting repairs as needed
  • Respond promptly to inquiries or calls regarding procedures, and communicate problems during shifts
  • Distribute workload equitably across the department
  • Assist new employees and students with learning opportunities
  • Coordinate and schedule exams to maintain smooth workflow
  • Perform quality control on assigned equipment and report issues immediately
  • Attend departmental and facility meetings/classes with a minimum of 90% attendance
  • Complete required courses and modules on time
  • Perform duties that benefit patients, personnel, and the facility as assigned
  • Adhere to departmental time, attendance, and tardiness guidelines
  • Wear employee ID and follow dress code policy
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the designated supervisor, where appropriate
  • Participate in all regulatory compliance activities
  • Verify patient identification and follow hospital policies
  • Communicate with patients clearly and professionally
  • Ensure proper patient preparation, verify screening protocols, and answer questions
  • Evaluate patient history and symptoms for procedural criteria
  • Assist patient in dressing for exam and handle transportation and positioning; communicate test details and assess tolerance
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills for newborn to geriatric patient care
  • Work with the Mobile Mammography Unit
  • Perform other duties as assigned
