Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures and ensure high-quality imaging.

The role requires ARRT radiography certification (with breast imaging credentials preferred) and 40 hours of mammography training, plus BLS. You will operate mammography equipment, assist physicians, and contribute to education and training of student Mammographers within the Duke Health system.

Qualifications

• ARRT eligible/certified in radiography is required.
• Advanced mammography certification is required or targeted.
• Minimum 40 hours of mammography-specific training if qualified after Apr 28, 1999.
• Must hold BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammographic radiographic equipment and related devices.
• Position patients and calculate exposure factors under supervision.
• Perform quality control for mammography and ensure diagnostic image quality.
• Prepare supplies using aseptic technique and explain procedures to patients.
• Manage charges in Maestro or EPIC and provide student Mammographer education.
• Assist in training and mentoring new Mammographers.
• Monitor procedures and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform breast interventional procedures as needed.
• Support maintenance of statistical data for the imaging department.
