Hours: 32 hours, Full-Time

Primary Function/General Purpose Of Position

The Registered Mammography Technologist produces high-quality breast imaging procedures while following guidelines established by the ARRT, ACR, and MQSA. They perform screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA scans according to protocols for interpretation by a supervising physician.

Essential Job Functions

1. Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
2. Assists radiologists in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and obtaining consent.
3. Correlates patient’s clinical history with the procedure and documents information for licensed providers.
4. Selects and operates breast imaging equipment to achieve desired results.
5. Selects appropriate radiographic techniques to produce quality images.
6. Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
7. Ensures patient safety during mammographic procedures.
8. Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
9. Participates in quality assessments and improvement plans.

Licensing/Certification

• Certification and registration in Mammography (preferred upon hire or within six months)
• State licensure (preferred)
• BLS certification (required)

Education

Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred)

Training

EPIC EHR (preferred), PACS (preferred)

• Adults (18-64)
• Geriatrics (65+)
