In collaboration with staff radiologists, this role requires advanced certification in Mammography. The technologist assesses patients and safely performs advanced breast imaging procedures following prescribed radiation safety protocols. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and students.

Required: Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program at an AMA-accredited school.
Preferred: One year of healthcare experience.
Required: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART), current state license, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced certification in mammography is required within one year of hire or transfer.
Stay informed on relevant laws, standards, and regulations, ensuring compliance. Follow Ochsner's compliance and privacy policies, reporting unethical or questionable conduct promptly.
This role requires medium work exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently, with the ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and travel between facilities. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues is possible, with occupational risks for communicable diseases.
