Job summary

The Elliot in Londonderry, NH is seeking a motivated Mammography Technologist to join our breast imaging team. You will independently perform screening and diagnostic mammography following institutional policies and physician directives to support accurate diagnostics.

Candidates should have an Accredited Radiologic Technologist program, ARRT Mammography certification, and 3–5 years of radiologic experience. BLS attainment is required or obtainable during employment.

• Completion of accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• 3-5 years of radiologic technologist experience preferred.
• Board certification and ARRT Mammography required.
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams per ASRT standards and department protocols.
• Adheres to departmental exam protocols.
• Participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the APIE model.
• Assists the interpreting physician during diagnostic breast imaging procedures.

About the Job:

The practice of mammography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Independently performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam.

What You’ll Do:

• Performs mammography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) “Mammography Practice Standards” and the ASRT “Code of Ethics”
• Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
• Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model.
• Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
• Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
• Assists the interpreting physician as directed when involved with diagnostic procedures in breast imaging

Who You Are:

• Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program, Required
• 3-5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, Preferred
• Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required.
• Certified by ARRT in Mammography, Required
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment
