Job summary

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Texas is seeking a Day shift, full-time Lead Mammography Technologist to manage the Mammography department and deliver quality patient care.

You will supervise radiologic staff, ensure accurate imaging, and coordinate with physicians and radiologists to optimize workflow. The role requires ARRT (M) and GMRT licensure, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• 2+ years of mammography experience.
• Licensed GMRT in Texas.
• Registered RT with ARRT in Radiography and Mammography.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily clinical and administrative operations of the mammography department.
• Reviews imaging parameters and ensures high-quality diagnostic images.
• Educates new and existing clinical staff as needed.
• Manages clinical team daily, ensuring policy and procedure compliance.
• Performs equipment quality control and reports hazards.
• Keeps documentation for QC and regulatory compliance.
• Serves as liaison to physician offices and responds within 24 hours.
• Coordinates with radiologists to review and improve images.
• Orders and tracks supplies to prevent care interruptions.
• Prepares and maintains department paperwork.

• Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

This lead mammography tech is responsible for the daily clinical and administrative operations of the mammography department, assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, internal and external customer service, performance of all Mammography examinations, transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services, preparation of all departmental paperwork, answering the department’s telephone, scheduling of patients, entering and retrieving patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) and maintaining the work area in a clean and organized manner.

• Explains Mammography procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
• Performs Mammography procedures ascertaining appropriate imaging parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) are utilized, providing physician with a quality diagnostic procedure.
• Provides education on an as needed basis to new and existing clinical team members
• Manages clinical team members on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Performs quality control on equipment ascertaining compliance with regulations. Notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.
• Maintains all documentation supporting the quality control program and regulatory compliance.
• Serves as a point of contact for physician offices requiring clinical information and responds to requests within 24 hours.
• Maintains an open line of communication with the dictating radiologist to ensure department images are constantly evaluated and improved.
• Orders supplies for the division, ensuring that patient care is not interrupted.
• Prepares and maintains department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
• 2+ years of experience as a mammography technologist
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT)
• Registered radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
