Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Lead Mammography Technologist to provide leadership and management to technologists in mammography, x-ray and dexa. The role focuses on patient-centered care within professional standards and excellent service.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, with 7:30am–5:00pm shifts and no on-call. A relocation or sign-on bonus may be offered and DailyPay is available. This role requires ARRT registration, 4+ years imaging, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • ARRT registered technologist credential required.
  • Minimum 4 years imaging experience with ability to guide others in process improvements.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Mammography Imaging tasks and ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Coordinate team through regular meetings, onboarding, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee team scheduling, timecards, and staffing for adequate coverage.
  • Maintain and improve imaging quality, equipment, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Support multi-modality procedures and leadership responsibilities as assigned.

There is a $5,000 relocation or sign‑on bonus for this role! The pay range for this position is $30.00-$50.00 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Mammography Technologist, you will provide leadership and management to technologists in assigned modality. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. You will also support and enhance the overall team by acting as a resource for new and long‑term team members. This is a full‑time position working in mammography, xray and dexa Monday‑Friday working various 8‑hour shifts ranging from 7:30am-5:00pm (no call). This position has the option of working part‑time (30-39 hours) in a 0.8 or 0.9 status (benefit eligible).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(80-85%) Patient Mammography Imaging
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
  • Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
  • Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
(10-15%) Team Supervision
  • Assists in the hiring process for new associates
  • Coordinates the training and onboarding of new associates
  • Leads regular team meetings and associates one‑on‑one
  • Monitors and approves timecards
  • Initiates and participates in performance reviews, development, and performance management of associates
  • Develops associate schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage
  • Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements for the team
  • Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place
  • Supports associates ensuring highest level of patient satisfaction
  • Leads special projects and/or committees, as assigned
  • Manages other departments in the absence of manager or peers and coordinates schedule to ensure appropriate coverage
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Required:
  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • 4+ years imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced Mammography procedures independently with highest quality
  • Certification in imaging specialty
  • Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
Preferred:
  • Bilingual
  • Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
