Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform mammographic procedures and examinations under physician orders, while ensuring image quality and patient safety. You will collaborate with radiologists, educate patients on breast self-exams, and support PACS for image management.

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification required and Indiana State Board ARRT (M) certification.
• Some college or vocational training accepted; license/ certification must be current.
• Up to 1 year of experience required; one year minimum as staff Radiographer.
• One to two years of mammography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammographic procedures according to physician orders and department policies.
• Evaluate digital images for technical quality to ensure accurate diagnosis.
• Consult with radiologist to obtain correct protocol for each patient.
• Document patient histories, and ensure PACS image retrieval and prior comparisons.
• Conduct timeouts for biopsies and surgical procedures and maintain patient comfort and privacy.
