Job summary

Tampa General Hospital imaging team in Tampa is seeking a Mammography Technologist II for TGHI Habana to perform screening and diagnostic mammography in accordance with ACR/FDA protocols.

Under Radiologist supervision, you will operate 2D/3D mammography systems, ensure image quality, protect patients from excess radiation, and uphold safety standards while delivering patient-centered care on a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Florida CRT license current and active.
• ARRT Mammography registry current.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies exam prescription matches procedure and records reasons for the exam.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Positions patient and adjusts immobilization to obtain optimal views.
• Sets exposure factors and moves mammography equipment accordingly.
• Processes digital images and checks technical quality for diagnostic acceptability.
• Ensures exam matches orders in PACS; adjusts billing codes as needed.
• Presents prior studies to radiologist for comparison.
• Practices radiation protection to minimize exposure.
• Stocking and ordering supplies; perform equipment QC when needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of a 2-year Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited school

Current Florida State License (CRT)

ARRT Mammography (M) registry

Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA
