Job summary

AdventHealth in Columbus, NC is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging and coordinate with radiologists. You will follow MQSA and ACR guidelines, manage room readiness, and participate in QA/QC checks.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification(s), state licensure, and strong patient communication. Full-time daytime shifts with comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR/BLS) certification required.
• Registered Mammographer RT(R)(M)(ARRT) and radiologic licenses preferred.
• Experience with EMR/PACS workflows and imaging coordination is expected.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Other duties as assigned.Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements. Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed. Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps. Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is lowPerforms and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
