Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform routine screening mammography, capturing high-quality radiographs while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The role emphasizes educating patients about the exam and maintaining a calm, supportive environment.

You will monitor equipment and promptly report any malfunctions to supervisors. The ideal candidate has ARRT radiography credentials, California mammography licensing knowledge, and familiarity with EMR/EPIC

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher is required or preferred.
• Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
• 6 months to 1 year experience preferred; new grads with CA Mammography License considered.

The technologist educates the patient about the exam and takes measures to provide and care for the patient’s safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient. Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions. Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Associates Degree or higher
• Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required
• Minimum of 6 months – 1 year preferred, but will also consider new graduates that possess State of California Mammography License (CRT M)
• Knowledge of EMR Systems and EPIC is preferred

License Required

• California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR
• California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology -CRTMA (must have by date of hire)

Certifications Required

• ARRT Radiography - RTR
• AHA BLS certification
• ARRT Mammography - RTM (If no ARRT in mammography, it must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
