Summary Description

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic mammographic exams using appropriate imaging equipment. Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for appropriateness.

1. Interviews patients to obtain or update medical history and assess risk factors.
2. Explains procedures, including side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
3. Sets up equipment, acquires images, reviews and documents images, and communicates findings to radiologists.
4. Responds to medical emergencies and provides post-care instructions.
5. Participates in quality improvement activities.
6. Provides imaging education to residents, students, and new staff.
7. May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist and take call/standby as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered by ARRT in Mammography (M).
• Must complete AHA BLS training by end of orientation.
