Job Description
Providespracticalinstructionforradiologyandultrasoundstudentsrotatinginthemodality. Assists radiologist with performing image guided diagnostic and invasive procedures.
PerformsanddocumentsequipmentQCaccordingtodepartmentprotocol;recognizesandreportsanymalfunctionor variation to the area manager, maintenance, or engineering.
Records all patient, procedure, history, and film information.
Maintains manual and computerized patient, department, and hospital records.
Appliesknowledgeandprinciplesofuniversalprecautionsandsteriletechniquestominimizeexposuretospreadof infectious organisms.
Applies knowledge of radiation protection to achieve radiation exposures. Performsanddocumentspatientassessmentandhistoryrelatedtoprocedures. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performsmammographyandotherbreastimagingprocedureswithsufficientresolutionandpenetration,includingthearea of interest, in accordance with physician orders.
Required:
-High School Diploma or GED is required.
-Musthavesuccessfullycompletedatwo-yearRadiologyTechnologyprogramwhichisapprovedbythecommitteeonAllied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the American Registry of Radiology Technologist.In lieu of program completion, equivalent education or/and experience will be considered.
CertificationinRadiologicTechnologywiththeAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
IfnotcurrentlyregisteredinMammography,thecandidatewillberequiredtoobtainregistrationwithinsixmonthsfromthe date of hire.
