Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services with a national footprint. We are hiring a Mammography Technologist for our South Florida facilities in a PRN capacity to produce diagnostic mammographic images and ensure high-quality studies in compliance with MQSA/ACR guidelines.

You will prepare, document radiation exposure, and support MQSA inspections while maintaining HIPAA and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate from College or Technical School.
• ARRT(M) and State License; must obtain certification/registry within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
• Must meet MQSA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols. Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and explain the procedure clearly.
• Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely. Ensure high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and radiation safety standards. Assist with QC tasks, equipment checks, and documentation as required.
• Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team-oriented approach.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow infection control practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency of EMR, Mammography Reporting Systems, PACS and DICOM; ensure timely image sharing and turnaround time.
• Train and orient new technologists on site or via remote command center; complete annual education and site-specific competencies.
