Job summary

EPIC Health in Michigan seeks a Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality screening and diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The role involves preparing patients, positioning for optimal images, and maintaining strict quality controls within a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will work with radiologists and staff to ensure efficient patient flow, document procedures in the EHR, and adhere to MQSA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) through ARRT.
• ARRT Mammography Certification [ARRT(M)] required.
• Current Michigan Radiologic Technologist credentials, where applicable.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of mammography experience preferred; new graduates with mammography training are encouraged to apply.
• Strong patient care and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to image quality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures per orders and protocols.
• Prepare patients by explaining the process and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Position patients to obtain optimal diagnostic images with minimal discomfort.
• Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before interpretation submission.
• Adhere to MQSA, ACR, state and federal regulations governing services.
• Maintain radiation safety standards and proper use of imaging equipment.
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
• Document procedures and patient information in EHR and imaging systems.
• Perform routine quality control testing and equipment checks.
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate service.
• Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with radiologists, providers, medical assistants, and staff to ensure patient flow.
• Assist with scheduling, follow-up, and other operational needs.
• Support teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
