Job summary

Tenet Desert in Joshua Tree, CA is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform general radiologic and breast imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammography, under the supervision of the department manager.

The role requires CA licensure, mammography certification, BLS, and at least three years of radiologic technologist experience; the position offers 40 hours weekly, day shifts, and a staff employment type.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; BS preferred.
• Graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• California Radiologic Technologist license and Fluoroscopy permit.
• California Mammography certification and current BLS certification.
• Minimum of three years experience as Radiologic Technologist.
• Effective English communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Care and safety of patients during imaging procedures to minimize hazards.
• Safe handling of radiology equipment and upright positioning.
• Prepare patients for radiologic, fluoroscopic, and mammographic procedures.
• Select appropriate equipment and positions; shield patients accordingly.
• Assess patient pain and coordinate with physician for intervention.
• Complete PACS tasks and ensure timely image presentation to radiologists.
• Train students and junior imaging personnel.
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms; assist with needle localization.
• Maintain records; ensure patient age-appropriate care; attend staff meetings.
