Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in Manhattan is seeking a Mammography Technologist (FGP) to perform diagnostic mammography and bone density procedures with strong patient safety focus. The role interfaces with patients as the first point of contact and works under general direction within the radiology team.

Minimum qualifications include a Radiologic Technology certificate, NY license or temporary permit, ARRT with Advanced Mammography certification.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology (required).
• New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• Registered by the ARRT with Advanced Certification in Mammography (required).
• College graduate preferred. Two years experience in Mammographic procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures with emphasis on patient safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of HIS/RIS systems and HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information; schedules exams and verifies orders.
• Sets up equipment, performs quality control checks, uses imaging and peripheral equipment safely, and reports malfunctions.
• Explains procedures to patients, adapts exams as needed, and collaborates with staff to meet radiology protocols.
• Follows radiologic procedures and isolation precautions as required.
