Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

The Stanford Outpatient Imaging Centers feature state-of-the-art MRI (1.5 T and 3T MRI), Digital Mammography with Tomosynthesis, Ultrasound, and Bone Density, providing easy access to the latest imaging advances.

A Brief Overview

Perform technical activities related to screening and diagnostic mammography. Assist radiologists with procedures such as cores, FNA's, and localizations. Ensure compliance with all mammography regulations. Conduct quality assurance on digital equipment. Participate in exams and support teaching and research activities.

What You Will Do

  • Assist patients with questionnaires, provide education, and handle paperwork efficiently.
  • Support ancillary functions like obtaining outside films, filming images, and faxing forms/results.
  • Assist with procedures requiring ultrasound-guided biopsies, wire placements, and specimen transport.
  • Charge procedures and supplies in the Radiology Information System.
  • Obtain, identify, manipulate, and send mammography images via PACS.
  • Develop mammographic films and match with paperwork for interpretation.
  • Evaluate radiographs for quality and obtain additional images if needed.
  • Operate mammographic equipment, position patients, and calculate exposure factors.
  • Prepare supplies, explain exams, and perform maintenance and troubleshooting on digital mammography equipment.

Education Qualifications

  • License/Certification requirement met by CRT, Mammography Certification, and BLS.

Experience Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective communication, teamwork, and patient positioning skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, ultrasound procedures, and imaging technology.
  • Ability to bill procedures accurately and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and equipment operation.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CRT, Mammography Certification, and BLS.
