Job summary

Spooner Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammographic examinations and ensure patient safety and comfort in Spooner, WI. The role requires accuracy in image quality, strict adherence to regulatory standards, and compassionate patient care.

Candidates should have graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT credentials in Radiography and Mammography, and must be able to obtain or hold Wisconsin licensure. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) preferred or obtainable within timeframe.
• Current Wisconsin Radiographer License (if applicable).
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures according to established protocols.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns.
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate mammography equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and state/federal requirements.
• Review images for quality and completeness prior to radiologist interpretation.
• Document procedures and patient information accurately in the EMR/RIS.
• Maintain equipment and report any operational issues.
• Assist with breast localization and other specialized imaging procedures.
• Follow radiation safety and infection prevention practices.
• Participate in QA and quality improvement activities.
• Provide compassionate and professional patient care.

Description

The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality mammographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, department protocols, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while producing diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. Previous digital and breast imaging mammography experience preferred.

• Maintain equipment and report any operational issues or concerns.

• Follow established radiation safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
• Provide compassionate and professional patient care at all times.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Licensure/Certification

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R).
• ARRT certification in Mammography (M) or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Current Wisconsin Radiographer License (if applicable).
• Current BLS certification preferred.
