Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO, is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms under radiologist supervision. You will assist with biopsies, localization procedures, and post-procedure care while ensuring safety and quality in every exam.

The role requires completion of a Radiologic Technology program, RT/M credentials upon hire, and BLS certification, with preference for at least six months of mammography experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program.
• Six months mammography experience preferred.
• Registered Technologist (R.T.) and Mammography (M) required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history, prior images, reports, and any other supportive role information that is needed.
• Performs/Critiques patient screening and diagnostic mammography examinations requested by patient and/or provider.
• Prepare patients for procedures. Positions patient and equipment, uses appropriate technical factors to obtain mammogram images.
• Performs contrast enhanced mammography and automated breast ultrasound for dense tissue evaluation.
• St. Joe specific: Stereotactic Core Needle Breast Biopsy preparation and assistance.
• Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.
• Performs quality assurance procedures and maintains records to accommodate regulatory guidelines.
• Performs preceptor responsibilities, as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist works under the supervision of leadership. The mammography technologist works in direct patient care performing screening and diagnostic mammograms. Works under the direction of the Radiologist during breast biopsies, needle localizations and other interventional procedures related to the breast The Mammography Technologist reviews and evaluate images for quality diagnostic purposes. Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients.
