Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator and Clinical Director, the Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms in our flagship Family Health Center; El Nuevo San Juan.

Minimum Qualifications:

• ARRT Mammography Certification.
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License.
• Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
• Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 1-2 years of related experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Key Duties:

• Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Complete appropriate documentation.
• Assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations.
• Produce high-quality films for evaluation by the radiologist, paying attention to detail.
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
• Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
• Serve as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists, and other support team members.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain current knowledge and skills.
• Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.

Starting Compensation:

Minimum $85,000 per year; Maximum $88,000 per year

Work Environment, Location, and Schedule:

Based at Bronx Family Health Center: El Nuevo San Juan. Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Every other Saturday with additional day off during M-F.
