Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate radiologic and mammographic equipment under the direction of a Radiologist to produce diagnostic breast images.

You will participate in routine imaging, supervise radiography students, ensure accurate exam coding, and comply with MQSA and ACR standards. This role is based in Sunset Park with access to NYU Langone Health’s comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State license and ARRT certification.
• Advanced Certification in Mammography.
• 1–2 years of radiologic technology experience.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the manager or lead technologist in a timely fashion.
• Enters proper exam coding. Arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion. Complies with all MQSA and ACR standards for mammography.
• Accurately utilizes the PACS system to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation.
• Technologist accurately monitors exposure to the pregnant patient. Technologist creates a minimum number of exceptions.
• Prepares patient using proper positioning and/or immobilizing patients and giving them the proper instructions regarding the procedure.
• Operates radiology mammography equipment to produce diagnostic images of specific body areas/parts as ordered for interpretation by the radiologist.
