Position Title:

Mammography Technologist (Levels 1-3) - Breast Health Network - Central

Department:

Breast Health Central

Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Administrative Director and Physicians, technologists perform professional mammography on a daily basis utilizing approved policies and procedures. Responsibilities include pre-examination tasks, data entry, quality assurance, and assisting with breast imaging procedures. All technologists will perform other tasks related to Breast Imaging of Oklahoma.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Position patients according to ACR standards
• Select appropriate technical factors and operate equipment safely
• Print and monitor films according to BIO policy
• Prepare mammograms for interpretation, ensuring proper identification
• Perform Breast Self-Examination education and assist radiologists in procedures
• Review requisitions for accuracy
• Ensure all mammography files are properly labeled and documented
• Input data into the information system
• Perform quality control and equipment maintenance
• Maintain patient logs and supplies
• Perform required QA tests
• Restock supplies and dispose of waste properly
• Assist clerical staff as needed

Qualifications:

Level I: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program, ARRT registration, BLS preferred, 0-3 years experience.

Level II: 3-5 years experience, ARRT registration with Advanced Certification in Mammography, BLS required.

Level III: Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred), 5+ years experience, ARRT registration with Advanced Certification in Mammography, BLS required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of anatomy, patient care, imaging principles, and safety protocols
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Excellent communication and judgment skills
• Ability to handle confidential information and work under stress
