Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist in Washington, DC. The role involves performing diagnostic mammography imaging and ensuring patient safety in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of mammography experience, ARRT certification, and strong critical-thinking skills to ensure proper procedures are performed. Job description

We are seeking a Mammography Technologist (Full-Time).

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/Lead to perform diagnostic mammography imaging.
  • Ensure patient safety by following established protocols.
  • Serve as the primary interface with patients during their mammogram.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 2 years of prior mammography experience.
  • Certified Mammographer through the ARRT.
  • Graduate from an approved school in radiologic technology.
  • Current ARRT certification in radiology and mammography.
  • Current BLS certification, maintained in accordance with the AHA Healthcare Provider's Program curriculum.
  • Ability to operate a mammography unit and perform screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Familiarity with breast biopsies.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills to ensure proper procedures are performed.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and accreditation requirements.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent, and graph interpretation.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and solve practical problems in dynamic situations.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission, ACR, and Title 22 standards.
  • Adherence to hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clinical personnel, medical staff, and the public.
  • Basic knowledge of PC and related applications.
