Job summary

Cayuga Health, A Member of Centralus Health, is seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist for its East Campus and Cayuga Park Imaging locations in Ithaca, NY. The successful candidate will operate mammography and x-ray equipment, educate patients on the benefits of mammography, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

This position requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences, certification in Mammography preferred. The pay range is $31.25 to $40.87 per hour plus benefits. Join us in promoting preventative health and compassionate care.

Mammography Technologist – Full-Time Days FLEX

East Campus & Cayuga Park Imaging

Roles And Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform various mammography/x‑ray related procedures. Prepare and position patients and select anatomical and technical parameters.
• Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
• Evaluate the image for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure prompt submission of all high‑quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correctly marked and patient data/history).
• Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Maintain compassionate patient care, comfort and safety while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Follow all state regulations and perform and maintain department QA procedures and documentation.
• Assist with training and educating new staff members and students as appropriate.
• Maintain all credentials and CE credits essential to position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Experience

• Education: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Sciences (ARRT). Certification in Mammography preferred. Non‑certified candidates must become certified within one year of hire.
• Experience: Preference for two years of experience, but willing to train new graduates.
• Licensure: NYS Radiology and/or Mammography Technologist. Certification through AART‑M (Mammography) or ARRT‑R (Radiography). New York State Department of Health License or eligible.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Locations: Cayuga Medical Center – East Campus (10 Arrowwood Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850) and Cayuga Park Imaging (401 Cayuga Park Ln 4th Floor, Ithaca, NY 14850).
• Shift: Full‑Time Days FLEX – Mammo shifts 7 a.m.–4 p.m. and X‑Ray shifts weekends 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; rotating X‑Ray shifts on weekends.
• Travel: 0–15% travel between sites.

Pay Range Disclosure

• Standard rate: $31.25 to $40.87 per hour plus benefits.
