Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Mammography Tech for outpatient imaging on a per diem basis. The role focuses on producing high-quality mammograms, ensuring patient safety, and following radiology department protocols.

Requirements include ARRT(R) and Mammography registry (M), NJ Radiographer license, and 2+ years of experience. Travel to satellite locations may be required; strong English communication and patient care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered by the ARRT (R) in radiography.
• Advanced registry in Mammography (M) is required.
• Must have NJ State Radiographer License in good standing.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Two or more years’ Mammography experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality mammography images.
• Prioritize and organize work assignments.
• Follow departmental protocols and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and ALARA compliance.
• Document history and demographics in PACS and RIS.
• Travel to satellite locations as needed.

Job Description

Mammography Tech - Outpatient Imaging

Status: Per Diem

Essential Job Functions

• Produces quality mammography images for interpretation.
• Assumes responsibility for patient safety by utilizing proper exposure and protective measures.
• Educates and explains procedures to patients.
• Follows appropriate departmental protocol for procedures unless otherwise specified by the Radiologist.
• Obtains and documents patient history and pertinent information.
• Insures proper identification of patient and patient demographics in PACS.
• Communicates with attending Radiologists and verifies provider orders.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
• Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities, based on changing business situations.
• Operates medical imaging equipment properly and safely.
• Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety Procedures for self and others.
• Ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.
• Follows department protocols in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Follows regulatory guidelines and performs QA/QC as mandated by ACR/MQSA.
• Follows mammography procedures for needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies as required.

General Job Functions

• Demonstrate knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.
• Must be organized, self-motivated and efficient while working well with others in a team setting.
• Must always deliver compassionate patient care with satisfaction a priority.
• Must adhere to ALARA principles while delivering quality, safe patient imaging at all times.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Other job duties as required.
• Attends departmental meetings as required.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) (R) required.
• Advanced registry in Mammography, (M), required.
• Must have current NJ State Radiographer License in good standing.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• 2+ years’ experience performing Mammography required.
• The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must be familiar with and utilize an Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS System.

Travel

• Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed.

Pay Range

• $40.38 - $50.48 Hourly The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
