Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging procedures with independence, technical skill and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology program with 40 hours breast imaging training.
• ARRT certification in Radiology and Mammography, plus an NJ x-ray license.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Mammography Technologist - RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the Mammography Technologist performs a variety of mammography procedures and exams that require independent judgment, technical skill and knowledge of the process of diagnosis of breast disease.

A typical day for a Mammography Technologist may include:

• Correctly positioning patients for routine and diagnostic radiographic imaging of the breast
• Selecting correct exposure factors to produce optimum images in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards
• Assessing breast images for quality assurance based on the guidelines of the American College of Radiology
• Assisting the radiologist in the performance of interventional breast procedures
• Maintaining infection control standards and policies
• Maintaining equipment by performing daily quality control tests

To be considered for this Mammography Technologist opportunity, you must:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an AMA accredited School of Radiology Program; completion of the required initial 40 hours of training specific to breast imaging; continuing education as required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the FDA/Mammography Quality Standards Act.
• ARRT certified in Radiology and Mammography, NJ State x-ray license
• Must be able to communicate effectively by speaking clearly and distinctly in English.
